This is far too sweet not to share. Aiden came home and he quickly went to work on his paper which when it comes to homework he would rather do anything else. He wouldn't let me or Eric read it that night. I thought it was so weird how he was acting but I let it go. Then the next morning on Veteran's Day he let me read his story before he left for school. It brought tears to my eyes how sweet it was.
Aiden wrote "Great Grandpa always put bananas in his ears. He kind of looked like a buffalo. He did it to make everyone laugh. When I was little I took a ride on his walker and said "toot toot". From then on it was called the toot toot. I started it. I am proud of him because he served in the navy (army) in World War 1 (WW2). On Veterans' Day I celebrate for him. He past away a few months ago falling down the stairs (heart attack) at home."
When Aiden got home from school he burst threw the door beaming! "My class voted my story as the best in the class" and I won a little bear. I'm sure this bear will become his new buddy :)
